Jaime Ayala

Jaime holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Universidad Anáhuac, a Master’s Degree in Management and Development of the Entertainment Industry from the same university and a Diploma in Communications and Crisis Management from ITAM.

During his time as a journalist at TV Azteca and Foro TV, he covered numerous worldwide events. Prior to joining CMM in 2023, he worked at Zimat Consultores, where he provided consulting in external communications for clients in several industries such as technology, food and beverage, finance, and construction. He has experience in stakeholder communication, spokesperson training, crisis management and media relations.

Mariana Campero

Mariana Campero is Senior Vice President International of CMM, a Mexican consultancy firm specialized in trade, economy, regulatory processes, and strategic communications. She is also the host of the CSIS Mexico Matters podcast (CSIS is a policy research organization based in D.C. dedicated to advancing practical ideas to address the world’s greatest challenges)

Mariana is the former CEO of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI), a nonprofit, independent think tank dedicated to the analysis and study of major global trends and their impact in Mexico. Previously, she acted as Vice President of Zemi Communications, a New-York-based strategic consultancy firm headed by Alan Stoga, a former partner of Kissinger Associates. At Zemi, her work focused on assisting governments and businesses in developing communications strategies aimed at various internal and external audiences

She is a frequent guest on television and radio programs in the United States and Mexico.  She is a member of the Mexico City Advisory Board of Citibanamex and has been recognized by Forbes Magazine Mexico as one of the «100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico» (2018 and 2019)

She holds a business degree from ITAM, the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México; two Master degrees from Columbia University in New York (Nonprofit Management and Art History); and is an honorary citizen of the City of Austin, Texas. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French.

Alejandra Cardoso

Alejandra studied Industrial Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Before devoting herself to consulting, she served as a manager at McDonald’s Mexico, where she was responsible for the planning, creation and organization of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation and the launch of the first Casa de Ronald in Mexico. She has worked as a consultant in communication and research strategies, first at Voy Comunicación and from 2004 at CMM. She currently works as administrator of the firm since 2017.

Anabel Cruz

Anabel has business studies. For 9 years she worked at the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Informatics (INEGI), in the areas of material resources and human resources.

Before joining the CMM team where she directly assists directors, she worked for 5 years at Public Strategies in Mexico.

Eugenio Dodero

He studied law and international relations at the Autonomous University of Baja California, UABC in Tijuana. He majored in English as a Second Language and has attended several courses at UABC and the University of San Diego on the matter. He has provided technical translation and bilingual document preparation services for various Fortune 500 companies. 

Since January 2011, he has been working as a consultant at De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, specializing in communications, public affairs and crisis management.

Isabel Fernández Castelló

Isabel has been a consultant at CMM since November 2013, where she has participated in the design and implementation of public affairs strategies for clients in the telecommunications, higher education, and green finance sectors, among others. She has collaborated on research projects on gender equality in Mexico and the economic impact of trade liberalization in the Mexican dairy sector; as well as in the preparation of the agenda of public policy proposals of a business organization.

Previously, she was an external consultant for CIDAC, where she collaborated on a project on citizen participation in results-based budgeting. From 2007 to 2008 she worked as a trade representative at the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, New York chapter.

In the public sector, she worked in the Investment Promotion Unit of the Ministry of Energy. Isabel studied a bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the Universidad Iberoamericana and has a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania.

Luis de la Calle

Luis de la Calle is CEO and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera (CMM), where he is responsible for the administration and operation of the company, as well as providing clients with his understanding of the economy, regulatory processes and matters related to international trade.

Prior to his work in the private sector, Dr. de la Calle served as Undersecretary for International Trade Negotiations at the Mexican Ministry of the Economy, a position to which he was appointed by both former President Vicente Fox and former President Ernesto Zedillo. In this role, he spearheaded Mexico’s negotiations for bilateral free trade agreements and regional and multilateral negotiations at the World Trade Organization. In this capacity, he served as permanent advisor to Pemex Exploration and Production and the National Forestry Commission and as executive secretary of the National Foreign Investment Commission.

Before being appointed Undersecretary, Luis de la Calle was Minister for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C., a position from which he played a fundamental role in the design, promotion and implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA.

Luis de la Calle also worked at the World Bank as Country Economist for the Czech and Slovak Republics and for Poland and the former Zaire.

Among many other organizations, Luis de la Calle is a member of the Institute of Public Council on Agriculture, Food, and Trade, the Mexican Council for International Affairs, and the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Aeroméxico.

Dr. de la Calle lectures around the world on international trade, the Mexican economy, and other fields of academic research. He has extensive teaching experience. He has an extensive list of published articles and publishes his biweekly column “What else?” in the El Universal newspaper.

Luis de la Calle studied his bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico, ITAM, and his master’s and doctorate in Economics at the University of Virginia.

Karen García

Karen studied Political Science at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). During her studies she was a research assistant and collaborated in the Data Laboratory, Datalab ITAM, so she has experience in data and qualitative analysis of different topics. Her main interests are inequalities and women’s political participation. She currently works as a junior consultant at De la Calle Madrazo Mancera (CMM). 

Guillermo García

Economist by the UANL. With more than 20 years of experience in public policies, alternating positions in the private and public sectors as a consultant and public official; He has extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment in Mexico and on the policies of economic opening and international trade. He has been a consultant at CMM for more than 8 years, contributing to market analysis and the management of public affairs in trade policy, regulations, standards, and infrastructure; and with economic arguments before the Mexican competition authorities. As a public official, he has held diplomatic positions at the Mexican embassy in Ottawa, Canada and as a representative minister of the Ministry of Economy (SE) before the OECD in Paris, France and has served as advisor and coordinator of advisors to the undersecretary of commerce of the SE, where he promoted various trade negotiations and Mexico’s participation in international economic organizations and forums.

Margarita Gutiérrez

Margarita studied at the Escuela Comercial Superior. She has worked in different companies as an assistant director. Previously, she worked at Voy Comunicación, S.C.; Marna Construcciones, S.A. and currently De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera. She has taken different business courses.

Isaac Guzmán Valdivia

Isaac Guzmán Valdivia Tovar has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

In his professional life, he has more than 10 years of experience working in public institutions, private assistance, and consulting, providing economic analysis for decision-making in economic and strategic planning projects, as well as in the design and implementation of public policies and the supervision of institutional programs. He has specialized in the development of macroeconomic models to analyze the evolution of the national and international economy and data analytics using data mining, machine learning, and information visualization tools for economic analysis.

He currently works as an economist consultant at De la Calle Madrazo Mancera (CMM) and at ITAM he is a professor in the Department of Economics where he teaches the courses Economic Growth and Introduction to Macroeconomics.

Verónica Ibinarriaga

She studied Sociology at the Universidad Iberoamericana and is an intern for the Master’s in Sociology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has worked as an analyst at the Center for Social Studies of the Private Sector of the Business Coordinating Council. In the educational sector, she was director of school services at the Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana, where she contributed to obtaining the Recognition of Official Validity and led the relationship with the Undersecretary of Higher Education and with the General Directorate of Professions. In 2002, it collaborated with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) for the implementation of the Social Commitment for the Quality of Education in which the public, social and private.

She has more than 15 years at CMM as a senior consultant in the development and design of public affairs strategies related to education. In recent years she led the positioning and public affairs strategy for Laureate International Universities Mexico as a leading player in private higher education, serving a popular market that might not otherwise have access to quality education.

María Esther Lazcano

María Esther Lazcano has a degree in Journalism from La Salle University. She has been a reporter and news anchor on radio and television in Mexico. She attended the journalistic training workshop given by the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation for New Ibero-American Journalism, in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. For ten years she lived in the city of Paris, France, where she was a correspondent for Milenio Diario, Milenio Televisión and Radio Formula. Back in Mexico, she joined the team of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera S.C. as head of the communication area.

Julio Madrazo

Julio Madrazo is director and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM), where he directs activities related to strategic planning, public affairs, and communication.

Before founding CMM, Julio Madrazo was a founding partner of Voy Comunicación, S.C., a communication and strategic planning services company that began operations in 2001. At Voy Comunicación he was responsible for the direction, administration and promotion of the company and led a team of consultants who provided services to government and private clients.

Previously, Julio Madrazo was Vice President for Latin America at Shepardson Stern Kaminsky, a company based in New York City in which he performed political and electoral advisory work in the region.

In the public sector, Julio Madrazo worked as a special adviser to the secretary general of the Organization of American States, where he wrote speeches for the secretary general, César Gaviria, collaborated in the restructuring of the Social Development Unit, as well as institutional liaison between the OAS, the IDB and the World Bank.

Previously, in the Presidency of the Republic of Mexico, he was political adviser to President Ernesto Zedillo and director of special projects during the six-year term of Carlos Salinas de Gortari.

From 2008 to 2011, Julio was president of the Board of Trustees of the Tamayo Museum, where he managed to expand it by Architect Teodoro González. Currently, he is Treasurer of the Simone de Beauvoir Leadership Institute. Since 2015 he has participated in the citizen initiative Mexicos Possible.

Julio Madrazo studied his bachelor’s degree at UNAM’s Faculty of Political and Social Sciences and obtained his master’s degree and is a doctoral candidate in United States Government and Public Policy at Georgetown University. In addition, in 2007 Julio completed the Master’s in Business Advanced Management Program at IE, Madrid, Spain.

Sofía Madrazo

Before joining De la Calle Madrazo Mancera S.C. (CMM) in February 2016, Sofía Madrazo was an advisor to the Secretary of Health, where she collaborated in the design of public policies to address the problem of childhood obesity and adolescent pregnancy in Mexico, as well as in research on best health practices in other countries. and different international health systems. On the other hand, she was in charge of developing folders and presentations for the Secretary’s tours and meetings, as well as monitoring international news focused on health. 

Within her functions at CMM she performs political analysis, legislative monitoring, strategic communication consulting and public affairs strategies. She has a background in health issues, as well as in the real estate, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. On the other hand, she was in charge of designing communication strategies for micro and small entrepreneurs, where her activities were focused on finding the best public positioning alternatives for them.

Sofía has a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana, where she studied the international politics subsystem. She performed her social service in the Senate of the Republic where she was in charge of legislative research work.

Javier Mancera

Javier Mancera is director and founding partner of De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM), where he directs activities related to business intelligence, strategic planning, and government relations.

Before founding CMM, Javier Mancera was director of Public Strategies de México, a public affairs company in which he offered his experience in business consulting and strategic planning to various clients.

Prior to entering the private sector, Javier Mancera held several positions of high responsibility in the public service. Between 1999 and 2002, he was Minister for Trade and NAFTA Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in Washington, a position from which he represented Mexico’s commercial interests in the United States, coordinated the defense of the rights of Mexican exporters, and oversaw compliance and implementation. of NAFTA.

Javier Mancera was also General Director of Liaison with the Private Sector and Trade Unions, in the Secretariat of Commerce and Industrial Development, where he oversaw coordinating the political relationship between Secofi and the associations and industrial and commerce chambers of the private sector. In that position he also designed the first database of the federal government to serve and inform legislators about the work and responsibilities of the Secretariat.

Previously, Javier Mancera was trade counselor at the NAFTA Office of the Mexican Embassy in Washington—where he oversaw the legislative strategy and the production of political debate and investment promotion materials—and deputy director of Strategic Analysis for the Presidency of the Republic. Early in his professional career, Javier Mancera founded and operated the press services company RANI in Mexico City.

Javier Mancera teaches seminars and conferences on the US-Mexico trade relationship and Mexico’s transition to democracy and was a professor of Political Philosophy at Georgetown University. He has several articles published, including «The Trade and Environment Debate» in the book Greening the Americas.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UNAM and his master’s degree from Georgetown University, where he is also a Ph.D. candidate in Government.

Gerardo Meillón

He studied Marketing Administration at the Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS), in Baja California. He has taken diploma courses in Interactive Marketing (ITESM), Corporate Communication (ITESM) and Institutional Communication and Design of Political Campaigns (UNAM), among others. He collaborated in the Coordination of Social Communication of the Chamber of Deputies. Since June 2013, he has been working as a consultant at De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera.

María José Medina

María José studied Political Science at ITAM. She has experience in research on educational issues, as well as in impact measurement methodologies. During and after her studies, she worked on topics related to political communication and qualitative and quantitative public opinion studies. She currently works as a junior consultant at De la Calle Madrazo Mancera (CMM), where she focuses on communication, strategy and data science issues.

Javier Millet
Tere Mondragón

She has studied computer science, line production, and quality control at the National Chamber of the Clothing Industry, CNIV. She worked in leather craftsmanship for 10 years, in the production and administration departments.

Before working for De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, she directly assisted the director of Francois Polad Spadoni for 2 years and for 4 years she worked in the credit and collection, production, and general management departments of HeayWear Company.

Alfonso Muñoz
Inés Robles

She has a degree in International Relations from the Universidad Iberoamericana, specializing in Law and International Organization. She has a master’s degree in Administrative Law and a master’s degree in Economic Law from the Universidad Panamericana, in addition to being a candidate for a doctorate in Law from the same institution.

She has worked as a research assistant at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) and as a production assistant for Washington Media Associates on the documentary “Trading Democracies”, based on the effects of Chapter XI of NAFTA (American Free Trade Agreement). from North). In the field of corporate social responsibility, she served as press director and editor of the institutional magazine of Kadima A.C., an association dedicated to the integration of people with disabilities, and as an advisor to Fomento Social Banamex and Fomento Ecológico Banamex.

In 2003, she was selected as one of the fellows of the Mexican Center of Writers.

She currently works as a consultant at De la Calle, Madrazo y Mancera S.C.

Eduardo Ramos

Before joining De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM) as a consultant, Eduardo Ramos was Head of the International Trade Negotiations Unit at the Mexican Ministry of Economy. In that position, he was responsible for managing trade relations with Latin America, including the negotiation of trade agreements with Peru and Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua). Previously, he participated with the Mexican government in the country’s negotiations with Japan, Europe, Israel, and North America, as well as in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Mechanism (APEC). English).

During his career as a public official, he worked closely with government agencies, private sector organizations, Congress and other relevant players in the definition and implementation of Mexico’s international trade negotiations policy. In addition, he was a speaker on the subject in different business and academic forums.

He obtained his master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Sussex in England and studied Political Science and Public Administration at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. In addition, he completed a Diploma in Political Ideas and Institutions of Mexico at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico.

Ricardo Santana

Ricardo Santana has a Bachelor´s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the UNAM´s Faculty of Higher Studies Acatlán (FES Acatlán) and is a Master´s degree candidate in Comparative Public Policy from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO México).

Besides working as a consultant at De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, S.C. (CMM), he is a professor at UNAM´s FES Acatlán in the Division of Social and Economic Sciences.

Formerly, he worked as Director of Legislative Liaison in the office of Mexico´s Federal Secretary of Economy. In this position, he was responsible for coordinating the development of technical opinions on legislative bills and integrating the Ministry´s legislative agenda. He also managed institutional relations with legislators of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, other Ministries, and social organizations.

Previously, he was part of the legislative liaison team in the Undersecretariat of Expenditures of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP). He was designated by the National Electoral Institute (INE) as a District Electoral Counselor for the 2018 and 2021 elections. He also participated in research on security, migration, education, climate change, and public health, among others, at the Belisario Domínguez Institute of the Senate.  

He completed certifications in International Conflicts and Reconciliation Processes at the Universidad Iberoamericana, in Human Rights at FES Acatlán, and in Political Analysis and Electoral Campaigns at UNAM´s Faculty of Political and Social Sciences and the Chamber of Deputies.

José Villicaña

He studied Political Science and International Relations at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). During his studies, he won the first Public Policy contest of said university, participated in the CIDE Talentum interdisciplinary program and collaborated in the Data Laboratory, Datalab ITAM.

Before joining the CMM team, José worked as a research assistant for Dr. María Elena Ortega in different economic and social development projects, an analyst at Valora SC Consulting and a consultant at Fundar, Center for Analysis and Research, where he acquired experience in education, policy evaluation and public finance.
